Before moving back to the Chicago suburbs in 2010, Dr. O’Connor worked alongside an animal chiropractor in Geneseo, IL and also worked in an clinic abroad in Nadi, Fiji to provide care to people, mostly children, who didn’t have access to healthcare.
Dr. O’Connor frequently lectures for various dog groups and provides demonstrations on canine chiropractic. Most notably, she has been a featured presenter for several years at the Chicago Pet Show and the Animal Wellness Summit. She has also provided interviews for various media such as TV and magazines. Additionally, she mentors students interested in animal chiropractic, particularly those from her alma mater, Palmer College of Chiropractic.
Besides seeing patients at Autumn Green AH, Dr. O’Connor also provides animal chiropractic care at her own office in Aurora, Vitality Animal Chiropractic, as well as volunteers her services for injured wildlife at Fox Valley Wildlife Center in Elburn where she treats injured wildlife such as Canada geese, ducks, squirrels, songbirds, opossums, raccoons, hawks, owls, rabbits, woodchucks, deer, and even snapping turtles!
She also partnered up with a 4th generation farmer to bring raw feeding options and convenience to the Chicagoland area, called Farm 2 Bowl.
In the past, she has served as an Adjunct Professor of Anatomy & Physiology at College of DuPage as well as President of the Holistic Chamber of Commerce-Chicagoland.
In her free time, Dr. O’Connor enjoys traveling especially if it involves scuba diving or red rock hiking, kayaking (usually with a dog or two), being out in nature, barre, cooking, nerding out on her fav topics, creating art, monarch conservation, and of course spending as much time as she can with her own pets! She has an Italian greyhound (14), border collie (10), German shepherd dog (3), cat (1), and an African grey parrot (16). She participates in agility, and also dipped her feet into duck and sheep herding with her border collie. And of course, her pets are raw fed and well-adjusted! 😉
